Citation Searching Online

Citations occur when a journal article, or other publication, is referred to in a more recent academic publication.

This session will focus on:

  • Identifying the circumstances in which knowing about and following citations can be useful for your research
  • Exploring the sources which have citation information, and the differences between these
  • Following citations and references to explore the chain of research and help with evaluation of sources
  • Establishing keywords through their inclusion or exclusion in cited articles
  • Journal impact measurements and methods for focusing literature searching in high quality journals

This session will be on Zoom. A link and password for access will be in the calendar event emailed out to people who register.
