Finding copyright-free images In-Person

This session will introduce some practical tools for finding images on the open web, which are free from copyright restrictions or licensed for non-commercial use. As well as using some examples of photo-sharing platforms, non-profit sites and public image archives, we will look at the Creative Commons licences and how they apply to web-based images. This session is useful for any student, researcher or university staff member who uses images in their academic or professional work.
Learning outcomes:
- Discover a range of image search tools and sharing platforms, while gaining awareness of how to use them for different purposes
- Be able to make use of advances filters and searching techniques
- Understand the different licences that cover online images and how they apply to your work
