IP, Copyright & Patents In-Person

This session will give you an introduction to Intellectual Property (IP), with a particular focus on copyright and patents in relation to academic research. We will look at the fundamentals of copyright, what impact it has on writing a student project, dissertation or thesis, and the implications for any commercial ventures outside of academic study. It will also cover the basics of patents, how to search for them, and what is involved in starting the patent process.
